Strengthening Border Security in Uganda
Completed
IOM announced Japanese funding for Uganda's SBSU programme in May 2016 1. Planned work included MIDAS upgrades at four border crossings, document-inspection equipment and an immigration training academy. IOM's 2017 annual report records formal project completion in April and describes the academy's MIDAS laboratory 2. These are the implementing organization's delivery statements, not an independent audit. The USD 1.8 million covers the broader programme and is not a software licence price. Neither source publishes a traveller charge, private supplier allocation or detailed data-retention agreement.
