Immigration passenger inspection user-fee programme
In operation
Federal law establishes an immigration passenger inspection fee and a Treasury user-fee account 1. The current regulation applies the statutory amounts and specifies passenger categories 2. The law permits funding for inspection, related information systems and other listed activities, not an automatic private-vendor payment 1. GAO records both progress and a remaining gap in its historical follow-up: a fee-harmonisation proposal was submitted, but DHS's joint-reporting recommendation was closed without implementation after ICE's cost study did not separate air and sea inspection costs 3. No supplier contract is identified here.
